The Buckhorn Museum

The museum was really cool!   How often is there a bar and a museum together? Beer and Guns, yes please! lol  This place is huge inside!  Two stories of museum.. Lots of mounted animals and some cool shooting games.  I would really like to go back and take my time and look at everything!

I didn't expect to see so much Texas history in the museum. It was a nice place to take teenagers. We were snacky when we finished the tour and much to our surprise, the food was good. There was a nice value for the money. I expected to be ripped off being a tourist attraction. Not the case.

This is another example of history that kids should see with their dads to understand just what we came from. I am afraid they think the luxuries we have are just ordinary and they don't realize how hard our forefathers worked to get the country to the point it is now.

My family and I truly enjoyed the museum...it was more than we expected. The kids learned about animals and also the history of TX Rangers. We would definitely go back again.

I am a local grandma and have 6 grandkids. This summer we are playing tourists and riding the VIA bus downtown and then hopping on the red trolley.  Yesterday was the absolute BEST day. I thought that my COUNTRY grandgirls would enjoy the museum, but NEVER to the extent that they did (ages 10 & 4). We spent a good hour and a half wandering around until we got hungry, at which point we went downstairs for lunch in the saloon (the food was wonderful by the way). We then went back into the museum for another hour and a half! All I heard was, "Gramma, look here...Gramma look at this!" The remark made by the 10-year old was, "This is THE BEST MUSEUM EVER!!!" I have to agree! I had no idea that there were so many points of interest in there. Combining the Texas Ranger Museum with The Buckhorn was a stroke of genius!

Thank you for a truly wonderful day!
