Our Gift Shop, formally known as The Curio Store, has a history almost as old as the Buckhorn itself! Albert Friedrich started the curio store in 1920 in response to Prohibition, which outlawed the sale of beer or liquor in the United States. Albert needed a way to support his family, and since the Buckhorn had already become somewhat of an attraction - he decided that a curio store would fit the bill.
The original store motto, "Honest Goods and Honest Dealin's” is still the backbone of our success today. The Buckhorn Curio Store is proud to have captured the essence of the Old West and to share it with visitors from around the world. We’ve got everything from Bowie knives, cowboy hats, and games to t-shirts, mugs, the film and batteries that you forgot, and many delightful items that could only come from Texas!
