Our curio store, "The Oddest Store in the World", has a history almost as old as the Buckhorn itself! Albert Friedrich started the curio store in 1920 in response to Prohibition, which outlawed the sale of beer or liquor in the United States. He needed a way to support his family, and, since the Buckhorn had already become somewhat of an attraction, he decided that a curio store would suit the bill. The Curio Store has always been as full of the unique, odd, and downright weird as the Buckhorn Museum itself! The original store motto, "Honest Goods and Honest Dealin's", is still the backbone of our success today.

We bring you the Old West through the smell of tanned leather, the sounds of a cattle drive, the taste of homemade goods and the memories of simpler times gone by. Don't be surprised to find antique Native American beaded gloves made centuries ago sitting next to a Veloceraptor's claw just across the way from hand made silver belt buckle sets from Vogt Silversmiths.

The Buckhorn Curio Store is proud to have captured the essence of the Old West and to share it with good folks like you. Of course, you'll find t-shirts, mugs, the film and batteries you forgot, and many delightful items that could only come from Texas!
